Hawaiʻi County Lane Closures: Week of November 5

The Department of Transportation announced a number of Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of November 6, 2023. Lane closure schedules may change without notice at any time. All projects are weather permitting. There will be no closures and HOV/Contraflow operations on Friday, Nov. 10 in observance of Veteran’s Day.

 

 

KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) / MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY/ 

 

KURTISTOWN

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between South Enos Road and North Kopua road on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between Lani Kona Road and Papalani Road on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

 HAWAII BELT ROAD / KAWAIHAE ROAD / QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) 

 

 

PAPAIKOU

Single alternating lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6.2 and 6.4 in the vicinity of Kapue Stream Bridge on Monday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 10 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., to address a dip in the northbound lane approaching Kapue bridge. Traffic will be contraflowed through the open lane.

 

PAPAALOA TO LAUPAHOEHOE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 23 and 27.6, in the vicinity of Stevens Road, on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping and replacing reflective markers.

 

PAAUILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 36 and 39, in the vicinity of Hale Hookipa Place and Chopper Boulevard, on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping and replacing reflective markers.

 

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Mud Lane and Iokua Place on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving work.

 

 KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

KEAAU

Roving right lane closure on Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 130) in the southbound direction between mile post 0 and 2.1, in the vicinity of Hawaii Belt Road and Opukahaia Street on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping the roadway and replacing reflective markers.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

KALAOA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction, between mile post 16.9 and 26, beginning Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on highway safety improvements, strengthening and widening shoulders.

 

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 6.17 and 10.6, on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstructing the roadway and weakened shoulder

 

HAWI

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 15 and 19, in the vicinity of Banana Ranch Road, on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) 

HAWI

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between The Ranch at Puakea and Maluhia Road on Monday, Nov. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
