Hawaiʻi County Lane Closures: Week of November 13

The Department of Transportation announced a number of Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of November 13, 2023. Lane closure schedules may change without notice at any time. All projects are weather permitting.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 20 to 21 in the vicinity of South Glenwood Road on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

NAALEHU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 62 and 65, in the vicinity of Kaalualu Road, on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between Ke Alanui O Aoi Kona Road and Koa Road, on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

 

 HAWAII BELT ROAD / KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 

PAPAIKOU

Alternating single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6.2 and 6.4, in the vicinity of Kapue Stream Bridge on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., to address a dip in the northbound lane approaching Kapue bridge.

 

HAKALAU

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 15 and 16, in the vicinity of Chin Chuck Road on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

PAPAALOA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 23 and 27.69, in the vicinity of Stevens Road, on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping and replacing reflective markers.

 

OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 28 and 29.5 in the vicinity of Kukui Village Loop on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

PAAUILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 36 and 39.8, in the vicinity of Hale Hookipa Place and Chopper Boulevard, on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping and replacing reflective markers.

 

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Mud Lane and Iokua Place on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving work.

 

 KEAAU PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 139) 

KEAAU

Single lane closure on Keaau Pahoa Road (Route 139) possible in either direction between Hawaii Belt Road and Keaau Pahoa Bypass Road on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m for vegetation cutting.

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

 

KALAOA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction, between mile post 16.9 and 26, beginning Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on highway safety improvements, strengthening and widening shoulders.

 

 

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 3 to 9 on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

KAMUELA

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 6.17 and 10.6, on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for resurfacing and reconstructing the roadway and weakened shoulder

 

HAWI

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 15 and 19, in the vicinity of Hawi Road, on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.
