Colorado Springs Police provides security in Colorado Springs

One person was killed and three others were wounded during a Christmas Eve shooting at a mall in Colorado Springs, CO. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the shooting at the Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs happened after a fight broke out between two groups.

Colorado Springs Police responded to a call at the Citadel Mall after gunfire broke out in a fight between the two groups just after 4:30 p.m. One man was found dead in the mall, and two other men “suffering from at least one gunshot wound each” were taken to local hospitals in serious condition, police said in a post on X. Two more males were shot, and a female suffered minor injuries not directly related from a shooting.

According to department spokesman Ira Cronin, Colorado Springs Police detained multiple people in connection with the incident. The mall closed following the incident and is expected to remain closed until Tuesday.

The CSPD is asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact the non-emergency line at 719-444-7000. Tips can be shared anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 719-634-7867.
