Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff  donated $150 million to Hawaiʻi medical organizations.

The donation, which is one of the largest private gifts in Hawaiʻi’s history, includes $50 million for  Hilo Medical Center and $100 million for Hawai’i Pacific Health.

Hilo Medical Center plans to use the funds for the development of an intensive care unit, neurosurgical program, state of the art birthing center and behavioral health services.

The monetary gift will allow Hawaiʻi Pacific Health to create a health care campus at the Straub Medical Center in Honolulu in partnership with the University of California, San Francisco Health.

In recognition for the contributions, Hilo Medical Center will be renamed the Hilo Benioff Medical Center and the Straub Medical Center will become the Straub Benioff Medical Center.
