County’s “Biggest Easter Egg Hunt” Taking Place Today

Hawaiʻi County’s annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place this morning at the Dr. Francis F. C. Wong Stadium in Hilo.

In addition to the hunt, the free event, which is presented by the Hawaiʻi County Department of Parks & Recreation, the Kiwanis Club of East Hawai‘i, the Hilo High School Key Club, and the Waiākea High School Key Club, features an ice cream eating contest, crafts and other keiki activities.

Doors open at 8 a.m., and the activity line-up is as follows:

  • Easter Crafts, Activities and Keiki ID: 8 – 10 a.m., for children 12 years old and under.
  • Ice Cream Eating Contest: Begins at 9 a.m. Age groups are 4-5 years old, 6-8 years old, 9-12 years old.
  • Easter Egg Hunt Start Times: 10 a.m. for children 4-5 years old; 10:30 a.m. for children 6-8 years old; 11 a.m. for children 9-12 years old. Parents and guardians will not be allowed on the field. Bags will be provided for keiki.
