32 year-old Kamren Forest Adams of Ocean View, who was arrested and charged in relation to an incident at a  Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision residence, made his initial appearance in Kona District Court where over prosecutors’ objections, the judge released him on supervised release.

The Court suspended the proceedings for Adam’s examination as to fitness and penal responsibility, appointed examiners. He was ordered to return for a hearing on the examiners’ reports on June 19.

As the Complaint alleges, Adams is charged with Burglary in the First Degree (enter or remain unlawfully in a building with intent to commit terroristic threatening and/or assault and disregarded the risk that the building was the dwelling of another) and Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree (with the use of a simulated firearm). Burglary in the First Degree is a class B felony offense which carries a penalty of either a ten-year prison term or four years probation and up to eighteen months in jail. Terroristic Threatening in the First Degree is a class C felony offense which carries either a penalty of a five-year prison term or four years probation and up to twelve months in jail.

The charges are merely allegations, and the Defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
