Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of July 8

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of July 8, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found here, https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY/ HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 11) — 

PAHALA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 53 to 55, on Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting. 

 

CAPTAIN COOK 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97 to 104, in the vicinity of Haleili Street and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for crews to work on safety improvements on the roadway. 

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

WAIKOLOA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 13 to 16, on Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work and vegetation cutting. 

 

 

KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (ROUTE 197) 

KAILUA KONA 

Single lane closure on Kealakehe (Route 197) possible in either direction between mile post 0.17 to 0.40, in the vicinity of Kamanu Street, on Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for lay out of shared use path striping and signs. 

 

 

 DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/ SADDLE ROAD (ROUTE 200)    

HILO  

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway/ Saddle Road (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 10 to 14, on Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work.  

 

 

 

AKAKA FALLS ROAD (ROUTE 220) 

HONOMU 

Single lane closure on Akaka Falls Road (Route 220) possible in either direction, between mile post 0 to 3.7, in the vicinity of Hawaii Belt Road and Akaka Falls State Park, on Monday, July 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting. 

 

 

 

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU  

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 6.2 to 10.6, on Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for over-banding in designated areas as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.  

 

 

PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO 

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, Monday, July 8 through Friday, July 12, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway for the Puainako Street Widening Project.
