Spaniard Sergio García claimed his first individual LIV Golf victory on Sunday, bating leader Anirban Lahiri in a playoff match for earn Andalucia title. Jon Rahm finished in a tie for 10th in his first event back home since joining LIV Golf.

García shot 5-under 66 on Sunday at LIV Golf Andalucia to get into a playoff with Anirban Lahiri, and then he won with a par on the second playoff hole to get his first professional victory in nearly four years. Lahiri had a 2-foot putt to win the event in regulation but missed.

The 44-year-old García’s victory marked his first title since he joined the new Saudi-backed LIV circuit in 2022. He had lost three times previously in LIV playoffs including two this year; he lost to Joaquin Niemann on the fourth playoff hole in the season opener at Mayakoba and to Dean Burmester on the second extra hole in April in Miami.

LIV Golf also had its first double playoff Sunday as the team championship also went to a playoff — on the first playoff hole, Abraham Ancer and David Puig from Fireballs GC (captained by García), beat Crushers GC’s Bryson DeChambeau and Paul Casey on the first playoff hole for the $3 million team prize.
