Hawaiʻi County Lane Closures: Week of July 15

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of July 15, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting. A map of lane closures can be found at https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/

KANEOHELEHUA AVENUE /MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

HILO 

Single lane closure on Kaneohelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 2 to 5, in the vicinity of Puainako Street and Ikaika Street, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.  

 

PAHALA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 51 to 53, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting.  

 

 

 HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)   

HONOMU 

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 13 to 14, in the vicinity of Kolekole Beach Park, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for grass and vegetation cutting. 

 

HAKALAU 

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 17.6 to 17.63, on Wednesday, July 17 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm., for vegetation cutting.   

 

KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

KEAAU  

Single lane closure on Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 3 to 5, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work and vegetation cutting. 

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190)  

 

WAIKOLOA TO KAILUA-KONA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 16 to 21, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder work.  

 

KAILUA-KONA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 32 to 38, in the vicinity of Makalei Drive, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.  

 

KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (ROUTE 197)  

KAILUA KONA 

Single lane closure on Kealakehe (Route 197) possible in either direction between mile post 0.17 to 0.40, in the vicinity of Kamanu Street, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for lay out of shared use path striping and signs. 

 

 DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/ SADDLE ROAD (ROUTE 200)    

 HILO 

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway/ Saddle Road (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 12 to 16, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work and vegetation cutting. 

 

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU  

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 6.2 to 10.6, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for over-banding in designated areas as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.  

 

AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) 

KAPAAU  

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction, between mile post 7 to 15, on Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting. 

 

 

PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO 

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, Monday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway for the Puainako Street Widening Project.
