Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of July 22

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of July 22, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.  A map of lane closures can be found here, https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/

 

 

KANOELEHUA AVENUE /MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

HILO (NIGHT WORK)

Alternating single lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) in the southbound direction, between mile post 5.19 to 5.39, in the vicinity of Ikaika Street, beginning Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26 from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for crews to upgrade the Traffic Data Collection Device.

KEALAKEKUA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 111 to 112, in the vicinity of Konawaena School Road and Puu Pueo Road, on Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for culvert work and shoulder restoration.

 

HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

NINOLE TO PAPAALOA
Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 16 to 21, in the vicinity of Kolekole Beach Park, on Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting with side and rear units.

 

KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (ROUTE 197) 

KAILUA KONA

Single lane closure on Kealakehe (Route 197) possible in either direction between mile post 0.17 to 0.40, in the vicinity of Kamanu Street, on Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for lay out of shared use path striping and signs.

 

 

DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/ SADDLE ROAD (ROUTE 200) 

 

HILO

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway/ Saddle Road (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 17 to 22, on Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work and vegetation cutting.

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 6.2 to 10.6, on Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for application of permanent striping as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.

 PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Ohuohu Street and Kuhilani Street, Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HILO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, Monday, July 22 through the morning of Friday, July 26, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. for paving the roadway for the Puainako Street Widening Project.
