Hawaiʻi County Lane Closures: Week of August 5

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of August 5, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

KANOELEHUA AVENUE /MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

HILO  

Right lane closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) in the northbound direction, between mile post 0.003 to 0.26, in the vicinity of Banyan Drive, on Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for tree trimming near Hilo International Airport.  

 

  HILO  

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 7 to 9, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road and North Road, beginning Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.  

 

 PAHALA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 51 to 54, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for grass and vegetation cutting. 

 

  HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 PAPAIKOU TO HONOMU  

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 6 to 13, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway, on Monday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting with rear and side units. 

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190)   

KALAOA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 31 to 33, in the vicinity of Makalei Golf Club and Old Government Mauka Road, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work.  

 

KEALAKEHE PARKWAY (ROUTE 197) 

KAILUA KONA 

Single lane closure on Kealakehe Parkway (Route 197) possible in either direction between mile post 0.17 to 0.40, in the vicinity of Kamanu Street, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving of new bike lane and signage installations. 

 

 DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY/ SADDLE ROAD (ROUTE 200)    

HILO 

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway/ Saddle Road (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 17 to 22, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder work and vegetation cutting. 

 

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAMUELA  

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 6.2 to 10.6, on Monday, Aug. 5, through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for application of permanent striping as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.  

 

 AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) 

 KAPAAU  

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction, between mile post 14 to 19, in the vicinity of Kapaa Park Road and Ilina Road, on Monday, Aug. 5 through Friday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting with side and rear units.
