Hawaiʻi Island police are renewing their request for public assistance in locating 74-year-old William Hammett of Volcano, who was reported missing.

Due to his age, Hammett is considered an endangered missing person.

Hammett, who was last seen walking in the Fern Forest Subdivision in Volcano at the end of May 2024, has a light complexion, stands 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs approximately 175 pounds, and has medium-length white hair, a white beard, and blue eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on Hammett’s whereabouts to call Detective Kimo Keli’ipa’akau of the Area I Criminal Investigations Section at (808) 961-2375, or via email kimo.keliipaakaua@hawaiicounty.gov.
