“Fill a Cruiser” Event Raises Over $8000 in Cash Donations

The Hawaiʻi County Police Department announced the success of the  fourth annual “Fill a Cruiser Food Drive. More than 2,031 pounds of food and $8,001 in cash donations were raised during the fundraiser held at the Kona Costco parking lot on Friday, August 30.

The Food Basket will distribute all donated food items and use the monetary donations to help in-need island residents.

In a press release Community Policing Officer Dwayne Sluss said, “The funds and food collected will go a long way in supporting those in need and making a positive impact in our community. He also noted HPD is looking forward to next year’s year drive.
