Former Hawaiʻi Island Man Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison for Cyberstalking

54 year-old John B. Hart of Louisville Kentucky was sentenced to 8 years in prison in Hawai‘i District Court for cyberstalking an ex-girlfriend and two men while living on Hawai‘i Island.

In April Hart pleaded guilty to three counts of cyberstalking and one count of obstruction of justice.

His prison term will be followed by three years of supervised release.

According to court documents, from May 2022 to August 2022, Hart, targeted his former girlfriend, Jane Doe 1, her former partner, John Doe 1 and her then-partner, John Doe 2, threatening death and violence. All victims were also residents of Hawai‘i County.

Hart had been detained in Colorado since his arrest.
