Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of September 30

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of September 30, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11)  

 

MOUNTAIN VIEW 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 15 to 17, in the vicinity of North Kopua Road, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting. 

 

PAHALA 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 45 to 52, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting. 

 

CAPTAIN COOK 

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 97.2 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for crews to work on safety upgrades to the roadway.  

 

 

HAWAII BELT ROAD/ QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19)  

KAMUELA 

Single lane closure on Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 69 to 71, in the vicinity of Hapuna Beach Park, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for shoulder restoration and vegetation trimming. 

 

  KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130)   

KEAAU  

Single lane closure on Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 3.8 to 5.1, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for restriping the intersection of Keaau-Pahoa Road and Shower Drive.  HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 190) 

KAILUA-KONA 

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 190) possible in either direction, between mile post 24 to 26, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting. 

 

 

  DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 200) 

HILO  

Single lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) possible in either direction between mile post 16 to 21, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for shoulder restoration work.  

 

  KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250)  

KAMUELA  

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 6.2 to 10.6, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for application of permanent striping as part of the Kohala Mountain Road Resurfacing project.  

 

   PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO  

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for shoulder work as part of the Puainako Street Widening Project.
