Kaua‘i Ocean Safety Bureau officials advised no swimming or ocean activities at Hā‘ena Beach Park and the Makua Beach area on Kauaʻi due to a shark sighting.

Officials report a tiger shark, approximately 10 feet, was sighted in waters off Hā‘ena on Monday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

As a safety precaution, warning signs have been posted.

Lifeguards will reassess the area today if there are no other shark sightings, Hā‘ena will reopen to ocean activities today at noon.
