Hawai‘i Island police initiated a second-degree murder investigation after a man with fatal injuries was found within a Hawaiian Ocean View Estates residence.

On Friday, Ka‘ū patrol officers responded to a Tiki Lane residence for a report of a deceased man and discovered the body of a Caucasian man who had sustained a fatal injury.

After conducting their preliminary investigation, Detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigation Section believed the injuries were suspicious in nature and not accidental.

Efforts are being made to identify the victim who has not yet been positively identified.
