Hawaiʻi County Lane Closures: Week of October 28

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of October 28, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY /KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 3 to 5, in the vicinity of East Palai Street, on Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KURTISTOWN

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 10, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road and Hale Pule Loop, on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction, between mile post 97.2 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and the Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety improvements.

 HAWAII BELT ROAD/KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 3 to 5, in the vicinity of Kahoa Place, on Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for removal of deposits at bridge.

PAPAALOA TO LAUPAHOEHOE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 24 to 26 in the vicinity of Papaa Loa Avenue, on Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

PAAUILO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 35 to 36 in the vicinity of Antone De Luz Road, on Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 58 to 59, in the vicinity of Ko Uka Street and Haleaha Place, on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction, between mile post 96.9 to 97-29, in the vicinity of Honokohau Street and Kealakehe Parkway, on Monday, Oct. 28 and Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping.

 KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

PAHOA

Single lane closure on Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 6.11 to 6.62 in the vicinity of Orchid Land Drive and Aulii Street, on Tuesday, Oct. 29 through Thursday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for restriping the intersection with Paradise Drive.

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

HAWI

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction, between mile post 16 to 19.2, in the vicinity of Hawi Road, on Monday, Oct. 28 through Nov. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Nov. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving the roadway and doing shoulder work as part of the Puainako ImprovementsProject.
