Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of December 2

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of December 2, 2024. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Roving single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 13 and 16, vicinity of Enos Road and North Peck Road, Monday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Alternating single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) at the North Kulani Road intersection Monday, Dec. 2, through Thursday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping of the North Kulani Road and Mamalahoa Highway.

PAHALA

Roving single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 48 to 50, before Pahala town, Monday, Dec. 2, through Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KEOKEA-HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97.3 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, Dec. 2, through Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety improvements.

HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

PAPAIKOU

Roving single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 7 to 9, in the vicinity of Papaikou Hongwanji and Old Onomea Road, on Monday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 

OLD KEAAU-PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 139) 

KEAAU

Roving single lane closure on Old Keaau-Pahoa Road (Route 139) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, intersection with Hawaii Belt Road and vicinity of Keaau High School, Monday, Dec. 2, through Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190)

WAIMEA

Roving single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between Lalamilo Farm Road and Waimea-Kohala Airport Monday, Dec. 2, through Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting and tree trimming.

 

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

HAWI

Roving single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between Iki Road and Banana Ranch Road Monday, Dec. 2 through Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street Monday, Dec. 2, through Friday, Dec. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for curb installation and shoulder paving as part of the Puainako Street Improvements.
