Multiagency Search resumes for missing female in waters off Kauaʻi

Multiple agencies continued their search for a missing 32-year-old female Alaska visitor in waters off Hanakāpī‘ai Beach on yesterday.

Personnel with the Kaua‘i Police Department, Kaua‘i Fire Department, Ocean Safety Bureau, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), DLNR, and the on-duty KFD Battalion Chief responded to the incident.

According to a preliminary report, Kaua‘i Fire Department members responded to a report of a missing swimmer at Hanakāpī‘ai Beach on the afternoon of Dec. 11.

Updates on the search will be given as information becomes available.
