Hawai‘i Island police are asking for public assistance identifying a female suspect involved in a  Makaala Street grocery store robbery.

At 5:30am on December 11, a store employee reported that the suspect placed several items in a basket and exited without paying. The employee was struck by the suspect after confronting her. The suspect then left the area in a white Honda Civic.

Video surveillance captured the incident.

Police ask anyone who may know the identity of the unidentified female suspect, or who has information regarding the incident, to contact the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.
