Hawaiʻi County Lane Closures: Week of January 13

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of January 13, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY/KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 44 to 46, in the vicinity of Kapapala Ranch, on Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KEOKEA-HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97.3 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for safety improvements.

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 116 to 117, in the vicinity of Walua Road, on Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 HAWAII BELT ROAD/ QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) 

NINOLE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 17 to 19, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway, Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

LAUPAHOEHOE TO OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 25 to 29, in the vicinity of Moonlight Road, Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KAILUA KONA

Single lane closure on Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 96 to 98, in the vicinity of Hale Makai Place, on Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for drainage cleaning.

 KEAAU PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

PAHOA

Single lane closure on Keaau Pahoa Road (Route 130) possible in either direction between mile post 7.6 to 7.7, in the vicinity Ainaloa Boulevard, on Monday, Jan. 13 through Thursday, Jan. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for crosswalk and curb maintenance.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

WAIKOLOA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, on Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 9 to 14, in the vicinity of Foot Path, on Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, Monday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and shoulder work as part of the Puainako Street Improvements.
