Hawaiʻi Island police are searching for 34-year-old Simon Varela of Ka‘ū who was recently reported as missing.

Varela, who is described as Caucasian, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, with shoulder length blonde hair and blue eyes. was last seen at a Hawaii Ocean View Estates subdivision residence on Sunday, December 15, 2024.  He has not been seen or heard from since.

Varela may be operating a gold-colored 2003 Toyota Matrix with Hawaii license plates ZMF837. The vehicle is described as a four-door station wagon with a large amount of rust on the hood.
