Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of February 3

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of February 3, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY/KUAKINI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

 

KEAAU TO KURTISTOWN

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 7 to 9, in the vicinity of Old Volcano Road, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KURTISTOWN

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 9.6 to 9.8, in the vicinity of Hale Pule Loop, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to3 p.m. for repainting faded crosswalks, lane lines, arrows, and pavement markings.

PAPA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 89 to 91, in the vicinity of Papalani Place, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97.3 to 104.7, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for safety improvements.

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Kuakini Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 117 to 118, in the vicinity of Walua Road, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 HAWAII BELT ROAD/ QUEEN KAAHUMANU HIGHWAY (ROUTE 19) 

PAPAALOA TO OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 21 to 29, in the vicinity of Kaihuiki Road, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

LAUPAHOEHOE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 25 to 27, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Hwy and Jardine Road, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

KAILUA-KONA

Single lane closure on Queen Kaahumanu Highway (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 93 to 99, in the vicinity of Kaiwi Street and Kaiminani Drive, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for drainage inspection and cleaning and media replacement.

 

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

WAIKII

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, on Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 9 to 11, Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for vegetation cutting.

 AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) 

KAWAIHAE

Single lane closure on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270) possible in either direction between mile post 1.51 to 1.57, Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installing temporary speed hump, striping and signs.
