Hawaiian Electric is improving its outage reporting system on Hawai‘i Island and in Maui County. As part of the new system, the current phone numbers to report outages will be replaced with new toll-free numbers.

The new system, which went into effect yesterday, will automatically recognize the caller’s number and account if they call from the phone number associated with their account, similar to O‘ahu’s toll-free trouble line. Customers will be able to quickly and easily report an outage through the automated system anytime without waiting to speak with an agent.

The toll-free numbers to report outages are:

  • Hawai‘i Island          1-855-304-9191
  • Maui County           1-855-304-8181
  • O‘ahu                     1-855-304-1212
