The Department of Environmental Management will perform overnight sewer maintenance on Makaʻala Street in Hilo tonight from 8:30pm to 4am Friday morning.

During this time, crews will be conducting hydro jetting and closed-circuit TV inspection work on the sewer lines as part of ongoing efforts to maintain and assess underground sewer infrastructure. This maintenance helps prevent blockages, improves system performance, and supports long-term planning.

Work will be confined to nighttime hours to reduce traffic impacts, and crews will be off the road by 4 a.m. Friday morning. Drivers are asked to proceed with caution, obey posted signs, and follow any directions from personnel on site.
