The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of June 23, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.  All projects are weather permitting.

VOLCANO ROAD (ROUTE 11)

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 17 to 21, vicinity of Mauna Kea Drive and Kahaualea Road, on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mowing grass and shoulder work.

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

 

 PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 46 to 48, in the vicinity of Kapapala Ranch Road, on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97 to 100, in the vicinity of Haleili Road and the Waea Dump, on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97 and 104, vicinity of Haleli Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for safety improvements.

 

 HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 25 to 29.4, in the vicinity of Puualaea Homestead Road and Niu Village Road, on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 32.6 to 32.7, in the vicinity of Kaala bridge, on Thursday, June 26 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. for routine bridge inspection.

OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 33 to 33.1, in the vicinity of Kekualele bridge, on Thursday, June 26 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for routine bridge inspection.

OOKALA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction in the vicinity of mile post 33.6, at Kukaiau bridge, on Wednesday, June 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for routine bridge inspection.

HONOKAA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 42 to 43, in the vicinity of Honokaa Country Club on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. tree trimming and shoulder work.

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190)

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for paving and striping.

 DANIEL K. INOUYE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 200) 

HILO

Right lane closure on Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) in the westbound direction between mile post 0.9 to 2.7, in the vicinity of Ua Nahele Street and Kuakolu Place, on Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for training on a device to measure pavement smoothness.

KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250)

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 8 to 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

 PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000)

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping and installing new raised pavement markers.

 

HILO (NIGHT WORK)

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27 from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. for installation of asphalt curbs.
