Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of June 30

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of June 30, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.  All projects are weather permitting. In observance of the 4th of July, there will be no contraflow and lane closures unless otherwise permitted.

 

 KANOELEHUA AVENUE (ROUTE 11) 

HILO

Pocket closure on Kanoelehua Avenue (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 3.5 to 3.6, in the vicinity of Kilauea Avenue and Hale Manu Drive, on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for maintaining the island and arrows and markings.

—MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) —

  

PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 48 to 50, on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

HONAUNAU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 97 and 104, vicinity of Haleili Road and Filipino Clubhouse Road, on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for safety improvements.

CAPTAIN COOK

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 108 to 109, in the vicinity of Government Main Road and Koa Road, on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

 

VOLCANO ROAD (ROUTE 11) 

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 19 to 21, on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, June 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mowing grass and shoulder work.

  

 HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 

HONOKAA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 42 to 46 in the vicinity of Mamalahoa Highway and Hamakua Forest Reserve on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. tree trimming, cutting grass, and shoulder work.

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving and striping.

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, in the vicinity of Saddle Road on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for paving and striping.

 KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) 

KAPAAU

Single lane closure on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) possible in either direction between mile post 8 to 10, in the vicinity of Kohala Ranch Road on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

 PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping and installing new raised pavement markers.
