Hawai‘i Island police are requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect in a recent Kailua-Kona theft that occurred in the 73-4300 block of Hawai‘i Belt Road.

On July 6,  a woman reported dropping her wallet, which contained cash and identification, in the parking lot of retail shopping center. Video surveillance footage from a store shows an unknown local female picking up the wallet and placing it inside a gray 2023 Jeep Wrangler bearing Hawai‘i license plate ZLK 608, before leaving the area.

Police ask anyone who may recognize the female suspect or who has information about this incident to contact Officer Eli Cayetano via email at eli.cayetano@hawaiicounty.gov.
