Hawaiian Electric crews will replace several utility poles along Hawai‘i Belt Road in south Kona and Ka‘u this week.

During this time, intermittent lane closures will be necessary while the work is being performed.

Today, the makai lane of Hawai‘i Belt Road between Opihihale Street and Ohia Malu Road in Captain Cook will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Thursday, Aug. 7, the mauka lane of Hawai‘i Belt Road near the intersection of Orchid Parkway in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Motorists are advised to plan for traffic delays and to drive with caution when approaching the work zones. Flagmen will be onsite to provide traffic control
