KWXX Launches 94.7FM Booster to Serve Kaʻū District
Delivering Island Music, Community Connection, and Critical Emergency Alerts to Pāhala, Waiʻōhinu, Nāʻālehu, and Ocean View
Hilo, Hawaiʻi — September 10, 2025 — KWXX-FM, Hawaiʻi Island’s trusted source for contemporary Island/Hawaiian music and local news, is proud to announce the launch of its new 94.7FM broadcast booster, now serving the Kaʻū district. This expansion brings KWXX’s signature sound and vital emergency alerting capabilities to the communities of Pāhala, Waiʻōhinu, Nāʻālehu, and Ocean View—areas that have long experienced limited or no reliable radio coverage.
In addition to music and news programming, the new booster enhances access to real-time emergency alerts for natural disasters, civil defense updates, and other urgent public safety messages.
