Officer Landon Takenishi of the South Kohala Patrol was honored as Officer of the Quarter for Q2 2025 by the Hawai‘i Island Safety and Security Professionals Association (HISSPA).

Takenishi was recognized for making five OVUII (Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicant) arrests, his expertise as a certified Drug Recognition Expert and his contributions to criminal and traffic case investigations.

Earlier this year, Takenishi was acknowledged at the MADD Law Enforcement Recognition Awards.

Sergeant Bradden Kimura praised Takenishi’s professionalism, dedication, and alignment with the department’s values.
