Hawaiʻi Island Lane Closures: Week of November 3

The Department of Transportation announced the following Hawaiʻi Island lane closures during the week of November 3, 2025. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.  All projects are weather permitting.

 

 

VOLCANO ROAD (ROUTE 11) 

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 20.5 to 21.5, in the vicinity of Luna Ikena Road and Old Volcano Highway, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for mowing, mulching, and shoulder work.

 

VOLCANO

Single lane closure on Volcano Road (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 27.5 to 28.5, in the vicinity of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Crater Rim Drive, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. for HELCO installing new powerline poles.

 

MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 11) 

 

PAHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 57 to 58, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

NAALEHU

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 60 to 71, in the vicinity of Kahuku Ranch Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for restriping, installation of centerline rumble strips and pavement markers.

PAPA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 85 to 96, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway and Kaohe Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for removal of existing striping, installation of centerline rumble strips, new striping, and pavement markers.

PAPA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) possible in either direction between mile post 98 to 100, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass and shoulder work.

 

 HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) 

 

PAPAIKOU TO PEPEEKEO

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 7 to 10, in the vicinity of Old Mamalahoa Highway and Kulaimano Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for grading and shoulder work

NINOLE

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 18 to 19, in the vicinity of Government Main Road and Old Mamalahoa Highway, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for bridge maintenance.

PAPAALOA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 22 to 24, in the vicinity of Uweki Road and Papaa Loa Avenue, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 56.5 to 56.7, in the vicinity of Pukalani Road and Lindsey Road, on Monday, November 3 and Tuesday, November 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of new traffic signals.

 KAWAIHAE ROAD (ROUTE 19)

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 58 to 60, in the vicinity of Ko Uka Street and Ohina Street, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for tree trimming and shoulder work.

KAWAIHAE

Single lane closure on Kawaihae Road (Route 19) possible in either direction between mile post 60 to 64, in the vicinity Ohina Street and Kawaihae Waimea Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. for cutting grass.

 KEAAU PAHOA ROAD (ROUTE 130) 

 

 

KEAAU

Single lane closure on Keaau Pahoa Road (Route 130) in the northbound direction in near mile post 7.3, in the vicinity of Makuu Drive, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for maintaining markers and delineators coming out of Makuu Drive.

 MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) 

 

 

WAIMEA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 0 to 1, in the vicinity of Lindsey Road and Lalamilo Farm Road, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installing striping, lane lines, turn pockets and direction arrows.

SOUTH KOHALA

Single lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) possible in either direction between mile post 12.2 to 16.4, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installing striping, lane lines, turn pockets and direction arrows.

PUAINAKO STREET (ROUTE 2000) 

HILO

Single lane closure on Puainako Street (Route 2000) possible in either direction between mile post 0.5 to 2.2, in the vicinity of Kanoelehua Avenue and Komohana Street, on Monday, November 3 to Friday, November 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for striping, installing new raised pavement markers and traffic signal loops.
