Dr. Brandy Nālani McDougall will be celebrated at the Hawaiʻi State Art Museum’s December 2025 First Friday event. Dr. McDougall’s term as State Poet Laureate 2022-2025 is ending.

The event will feature live performances in the outdoor Sculpture Garden by the Kenny Endo Ensemble and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Department of Theatre and Dance. The Dance Program Showcase “Dancing in the Diaspora” is an original Filipino cultural production.

First Friday events are free, and family-friendly.
