The Hawai‘i County Police Department recently hosted its annual Shop With a Cop event in Kona.

The program, which started over 30 years ago, partners with Catholic Charities Hawai‘i and local agencies to provide holiday shopping experiences for children from families facing financial hardship.

This year, nearly 50 keiki participated, each receiving a $125 gift card to shop at Kona Walmart alongside law enforcement officers from multiple agencies.

After shopping, volunteers helped wrap gifts, and participants enjoyed breakfast and a visit with Santa.
