Police Identify Body Found in Kona

Hawai‘i Island police identified the man found deceased near a businesses in the 74-5000 block of Kaiwi Street in Kailua-Kona on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, as 51-year-old Paul Ascunsion of Kona.

Police launched a coroner’s inquest investigation and determined there were no indications of foul play or suspicious circumstances surrounding Ascunsion’s death.

The coroner’s inquest investigation has been closed.
