Tyson Fury will step back into the ring this spring, ending his latest retirement to face hard-hitting Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov in a comeback fight on April 11 in the United Kingdom. The fight will stream live worldwide on Netflix, which said the event will be available at no extra cost to subscribers. The venue and full fight card will be announced in the coming weeks, and the bout will mark Netflix’s first live boxing broadcast from the U.K.

Netflix and promoters confirmed the matchup Wednesday, marking Fury’s first bout in more than a year and his first fight on home soil since 2022. The streamer posted on X: “Tyson Fury is coming home.TYSON FURY vs. ARSLANBEK MAKHMUDOV. Saturday April 11 from the United Kingdom — and LIVE only on Netflix.”

Fury, 37, announced his return earlier this month after retiring in January 2025 — the fifth time he has stepped away from the sport. His most recent appearances came in 2024, when he suffered back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, the only defeats of his career. His latest return had long been anticipated after he posted training videos and hinted on social media that a comeback was near. His decision also revives speculation about a long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua later this year, though Joshua’s recovery from injuries sustained in a serious car crash in Nigeria has cast uncertainty over those plans.

Fury enters the bout with a 34-2-1 record, including 24 knockouts, after going unbeaten in his first 35 professional fights. “Excited to be back,” Fury said in a release. “Heart’s always been and always will be in boxing. Someone go tell the king that the ace is back!”

Makhmudov, 36, brings a 21-2 record with 19 knockouts and is known for his aggressive, power-heavy style. He is coming off an October victory over David Allen and a June win against Ricardo Brown. Although he enters as the underdog, the Russian said he welcomes the challenge. “I am thrilled about the opportunity. I’m coming to deliver a War,” Makhmudov said. “Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready than ever to leave with a massive W.”
