Monday-5:45pm

The National Weather Service has canceled the Flood Warning for Hawaiʻi Island. However, a Flood Watch remains in effect through tomorrow morning.

A Flood Watch means conditions are favorable for flooding, though flooding is not guaranteed. Heavy rainfall could still lead to rising streams, roadway flooding, and other hazardous conditions.

Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to remain prepared for heavy rain and possible flooding. Motorists should be aware that road closures may occur without notice.

Officials urge the public not to attempt to cross flowing water, either in a vehicle or on foot. Turn around, don’t drown.

If lightning threatens your area, the safest place to be is indoors. Residents are encouraged to stay informed as weather conditions continue to evolve and additional updates are issued.
