State now has 175 cases–Hawaii County, 12

Hawaii State Department of Health has announced that the Hawaii count of confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen to 175, 24 new reported cases since Saturday.  Hawaii County has had 2 new cases, for a total of 12 cases in Hawaii County.   The bulk of the cases is on O’ahu, which has a total of 123 cases.  In all counties, a certain number of people have recovered and are no longer considered contagious.  There have been no deaths in the state due to COVID-19.

The vast majority of cases are Hawai‘i residents (145) and (20) non-residents. To date, 10 cases have unknown residency. There have been nearly 8,000 laboratory tests conducted for COVID-19 samples. Private clinical laboratories are now testing all samples for flu-related illnesses in addition to COVID-19.

As of Sunday, Mar. 29, 2020 at noon:

Total cases: 175 (24 new)
Hawai’i County: 12 (2)
Honolulu County: 123 (15)
Kaua’i County: 12 (1)
Maui County: 20 (4)
Pending: 6 (2) | HI residents diagnosed outside of HI: 2 (0)

Required Hospitalization: 12 (0)
Hawaii deaths: 0 (0)
Positive cases includes presumptive and confirmed cases, data are preliminary and subject to change; includes Hawaii residents and non-residents.
