The State of Hawaii has seen its third death from COVID-19.  The total number of cases in the state as of noon on Friday, April 3, is 319, up 34 from Thursday.   The island of Moloka’i also now has its first case, in a resident who had recently traveled to Las Vegas.

The State Department of Health’s Director, Bruce Anderson,  has said the state’s numbers would rise as more tests were performed and returned.  He also said although people who have had tests have been waiting up to 14 days for results, now more labs in the state will be doing the  processing, so that wait time should be shortened.

The State’s count shows Hawaii County as having 20 total cases, with 6 people recovered and out of the required isolation.

†The sum of changes in county “Change from X/X/X” may be larger than the number of statewide newly reported cases because of previously reported pending cases being reclassified to county totals as more information is collected.

††Isolation should be maintained until at least 3 days (72 hours) after resolution of fever and myalgia without the use of antipyretics OR at least 7 days have passed since symptom onset, whichever is longer.
