On Wednesday, April 15, 764 people arrived in Hawai‘i including 105 visitors and 480 residents.  Hawaii Tourism Authority says the returning resident count is particularly high for Wednesday because it includes about 300 National Guard Soldiers who returned from a deployment.

Kona had no flights arrive.

State officials continue to mull ways to stem the tide of visitors, even as low as it is.  The earliest cases of COVID-19 were as a result of travel, either brought in by residents or visitors coming into the state or spread to people who were exposed to those who had traveled. Though there is community spread in the state, officials still want visitor travel to stop for now.  The state is under a “stay at home” order through April 30, and all incoming travelers must be in quarantine for 14 days.
