Hawaii Island’s Food Basket, the island’s only food bank, will distribute food today at Na’lehu Shopping Center today from 10 a.m. until noon, and tomorrow at Kea’au High School from 10 a.m. until noon.  On Thursday, Hawaii Food Basket will distribute food at Waimea District Park from 10 a.m. until noon.  However, if the food supply is depleted, they may not be able to continue until noon at all locations.

Food Basket Executive Director Kristin Frost Albrecht says most food pantries and community feeding locations throughout the island have closed because of COVID-19.  At these locations, people are asked to drive in and volunteers will put food in their cars to avoid person-to-person contact.  Everybody should still have face coverings or masks.
