There are two pop-up drive-through testing sites today on Hawaii Island, in addition to all the ongoing sites that test.

Screening and testing for both COVID-19 (the PCR test, a nasal swab of the nose/throat) and antibody testing to see if somebody already had COVID-19 (a blood draw) will be available Wednesday at:

–Pāhoa District Park today from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Screening will be done on-site by Premier Medical Group medical personnel to determine whether somebody should have both a COVID-19 and an antibody test, one, or none.

–St. Jude’s Episcopal Church in Ocean View today from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Aloha Kona Urgent Care will manage this testing event, and will have both on-site screening or advance screening for both COVID-19 and antibody tests over the phone by calling 808-854-3566.

For more information about antibody testing in a discussion with Dr. Scott Miscovich of Premier Medical Group, click here.  Dr. Miscovich will also be the guest for the Island Conversations with Sherry Bracken on Sunday, May 24, in an interview that will be available at kwxx.com/podcast/island-conversations or on the radio on the Big Island at 6:30 a.m. at 6:30 a.m. on KWXX (101.5 Kona, 94.7 Hilo) and at 7 a.m. on B93.1 in Kona, and 97.1 in Hilo.

Dr. Miscovich said those who should present for antibody screening include

-Those who have had COVID-19, to see their antibody level

-Close contacts of those confirmed with COVID-19

-First responders

-Front line healthcare workers

-Travel industry representatives who may have had contact with travelers from January on–hotel workers, tour drivers, TSA workers, airport workers, airline personnel

-Those who had heavy coughs, fevers, perhaps testing negative for influenza from January on
