Hawaii State Department of Health reports only one new case of COVID-19 in the state today, on O’ahu.  The statewide count is 653.  Over the past several weeks, our case count has been zero or in single digits, and with the COVID curve flat, Gov. David Ige announced on Monday that interisland travel may resume without the 14-day quarantine, starting Saturday June 16.  There are going to be changes due to COVID-19, to keep people safe and to let the State Department of Health do effective contact tracing as COVID-19 cases appear.

Lt. Gov. Dr. Josh Green advised people to expect additional COVID-19 cases, but offered the reassurance that our state’s hospitals have the capacity to handle a surge of cases.
