Hawaii State Department of Health says O’ahu has added 4 new cases of COVID-19, bringing O’ahu’s count to 505 cases and the state’s to 740.  Of those cases, 12% have required hospitalization, and 674 (91%) were residents.

In Monday’s COVID-19 briefing with Gov. David Ige and State Director of Health Bruce Anderson, Dr. Anderson said as of yesterday there had been one case identified in a resident at Hale Nani Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on O’ahu, the state’s largest nursing home.  This resident was diagnosed with COVID-19 at the nursing home, and prior to that, the only nursing home patient with COVID-19 had been on Maui and had contracted the virus at Maui Memorial Medical Center.  One case is in a worker at Hale Nani, and Dr. Anderson said it wasn’t clear if the patient caught it from the worker or had it when admitted or there was another answer.
