The state has 11 new cases of COVID-19 today, with 9 on O’ahu and 2 on the Big Island.  The State Department of Health says 4 of the cases on the Big Island are still being monitored as active cases.  (See below the numbers chart for the latest DOH map on where recent cases are located.)  The island’s cumulative case count is 85.   The state’s case count is now 814, up 162 since June 1.

O’ahu continues to have the highest case count in the state, with 566 cumulative and 437 released from isolation, with 129 active cases.  In the past week O’ahu has had clusters at the Hale Nani Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, at private homes, and in connection with a church congregation that gathered in a private home during the “stay at home” orders.

Kaua’i has added 8 cases in the past two days, all said to be in one family cluster.

Maui County has 122 cases.

Interisland travel is now allowed with no 14-day quarantine, but State Department of Health has implemented procedures that will help monitor the health of travelers plus provide tracking information in case they either get sick themselves or  come into contact with somebody who has or develops COVID-19.  This is part of the contact tracing so critical to helping prevent unmanageable spread of COVID-19.  For detail on the travel procedures, click here for a previous story.
