La‘i‘Ōpua 2020 will give out free drive-thru meals at the La‘i‘Ōpua Community Center this evening at 5:00 p.m.

The menu: roast pork, brown gravy, steamed rice, and corn, provided by Ippy’s Hawaiian Barbecue.

La‘i‘Ōpua Community Center is 74-5210 Keanalehu Drive, above Kealakehe High School. Anybody is welcome, though the focus is on community members who are suffering from food insecurity. People may get one meal per person in the car, and everybody is asked to stay in the vehicle and volunteers will bring the meals to the vehicle.

Several organizations are helping with the event, which is sponsored by The Roberts Foundation, Andrew and Angelique Wilson, the Durban Family, Douglas and Shawn McKenzie, Alan and Charlotte Waxman, Hawaii Community Foundation, and the County of Hawaii.
