The State of Hawaii has 47 new COVID-19 cases confirmed today, after a dip to 28 new yesterday.  State officials had warned that the State Laboratory did no processing on Sunday because of the potential of Hurricane Douglas, and other laboratories may not been open, either.  So they expected a jump today.  This is not as many as last Sunday (64), Saturday (73), or Friday (60).

Hawaii Island’s count has gone done by one, to 116, as a result of updated information. And the State DOH report shows only two active cases on the Big Island.

The state total number of COVID-19 cases now stands at 1,747 cases. Out of that total, 1,419 are cases on Oahu, 153 in Maui County, 116 in Hawaii County, and 45 in Kauai County.  The death toll from COVID-19 stands at 26, with none new.

Maui County has one new case, and Kaua’i, no new cases.   O’ahu added 46 new cases.  On O’ahu, 924 people have been released from isolation and monitoring, so there are 495 active cases on that island.

Mayor Mike Victorino has asked Gov. David Ige to reimpose the 14-day interisland travel quarantine.
