Big Island has 21 new COVID cases, 290 active; state adds 167

The State reports there are 167 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today statewide.  There have been 96 deaths–with at least 8 on the Big Island still not in the state count–and there are around 7,029 or more active cases.  The state has 10,459 cumulative cases of COVID-19.

The Big Island now has 562 cumulative cases, with 21 newly-reported today.  There are 290 active cases.

The island has had 11 deaths because of COVID-19, 10 in residents at the Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home, and one other person who had been at Hilo Medical Center.  Hilo Medical Center will provide its regular report later today.

Kona Community Hospital reported that yesterday they released to home a COVID-19 patient in the 60+ age group who had been hospitalized for several days.  That person is currently recovering, which includes going through rehabilitation after being hospitalized for so long.

North Hawaii Community Hospital spokesperson said they have no COVID-19 patients.

Kaua’i again has no newly-reported cases, and remains at 58 cumulative.  Maui County has  new cases, for 367 cumulative.  The island of O’ahu has 142 new cases, for 9,446 cumulative cases and more than 6,500 active cases.

Released from Isolation: 223
Required Hospitalization: 47
Deaths: 9

Total Cases: 26
Released from Isolation: 0
Required Hospitalization: 2
Deaths: 1

Released from Isolation: 0
Required Hospitalization: 0
