US has 6.8M cases, 199,552 deaths; world has 961K deaths

The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 Dashboard for Monday, September 21, at 5:23 a.m.:

Worldwide cases:  31,110,407     Worldwide deaths: 961,544

U.S. cases:  6,816,046   U.S. deaths:  199,552

According to the Dashboard, the reported worldwide case report increased by 281,640 in the last 24 hours.  Deaths worldwide increased by  3,585.

According to the Johns Hopkins Dashboard, the United States has added 46,676 cases in the last 24 hours.  In that time,  the number of reported deaths from  COVID-19 increased by 252.

In Hawaii,the state’s total COVID-19 cases stand at 11,403.  There are around 6,524 active cases in the state.

The Big Island has 644 cumulative cases of COVID-19, with around 177 active.

The State has confirmed 120 deaths from COVID-19.  As of Sunday evening, the Big Island has lost 26 people to COVID-19, 24 of whom were residents at the Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home.

The first exposures at the Yukio Okutsu Veterans Home were from a staff member, and from a resident who had received dialysis care at Liberty Dialysis, which has had several cases.  Avalon Healthcare, which operates the Veterans Home, said Liberty Dialysis did not inform them of the possible exposure.
